Day 1: Nairobi – Arrival

Depending on the timings of your international flight, on arrival at JKIA, our representative will meet you and do some introduction and briefs, Later you will be transferred to your pre-booked hotel, freshen up, change and get itinerary for the tour.

Meals and Overnight will be in Nairobi.

 

Day 2: Nairobi

After breakfast, our representative will drive you to Nairobi National park where you will have a morning game drive and have The Safari Walk. At around 1100hrs you will visit The David Sheldrick National Wildlife Trust. This is an orphan-elephant rescue organization, devoted to conserving East Africa’s wildlife and habitats. Founded in 1977 by Dr. Dame Daphne Sheldrick in honor of her late husband and famous Warden of Tsavo East National Park, David Sheldrick, the trust is one of the most successful elephant and rhino rescue programs in the world.

You will proceed with your tour to The Giraffe Centre. This center protects the highly endangered Rothschild’s giraffe, combines serious conservation with enjoyable activities. You can observe, hand-feed or even kiss one of the giraffes from a raised wooden structure, which is quite an experience. You may also spot warthogs snuffling about in the mud, and there’s an interesting self-guided forest walk through the adjacent Gogo River Bird Sanctuary.

Board your van and continue to Karen Blixen Museum. You will have lunch here. If you loved the movie Out of Africa, you’ll love this place. This museum is the farmhouse where author Karen Blixen lived between 1914 and 1931. She left after a series of personal tragedies, but the lovely colonial house has been preserved as a museum. The museum is set in expansive gardens, and is an interesting place to wander around after the tour.

In the evening you will have dinner at the Bomas of Kenya with cultural dance entertainment. You will later be transferred to their hotel.

Overnight will be at Wildebeest eco Camp Nairobi.

 

Day 3: Nairobi

After Breakfast, our representative will meet you and you will depart for a city tour of Nairobi. You will get to visit places like the Nairobi Arboretum, our biggest Campus, the Nairobi University, and Norfolk Hotel. Historically, the Norfolk was “The Place” for starting safaris as way back in 1904, the Kenya Conservatoire of Music and the National Theater, book shops and publishers, Former American Embassy which is now a memorial place, the Railway Station, the Railway Museum and the Kenya Railways Headquarters. You will also drive directly to Nairobi hill viewpoint from where you have a panoramic view of the city. You will proceed to “Gods corner”, significant for the number of different churches situated in this area. You will also visit the KICC and view the city from its roof top as well as the Tetrahedron. Later you will have lunch in the city.

After lunch you will visit The National Museums of Kenya. The Museum aims to interpret Kenya’s rich heritage and offers a one stop for visitors to sample the country’s rich heritage both for education and leisure. In addition to the museum, visitors are treated to a variety of shopping and dining facilities, as well as botanical gardens that offer a serene environment. Built in 1929, this is the flagship museum for the National Museums of Kenya, housing celebrated collections of Kenya’s History, Nature, Culture and Contemporary Art.

Then visit the Snake Park. Currently the Snake Park exhibits Invertebrates like Giant Snails, Baboon Spider, Mombasa Train Millipede, Crayfish, Freshwater Prawns and Vertebrates like Fishes both Marine and Fresh water, Amphibians, Reptiles, Birds and Mammals.

After Snake Park you will visit The Nairobi Gallery. Located at the intersection of Kenyatta Avenue/ Uhuru Highway in the heart of Nairobi City is the Nairobi Gallery. Built in 1913, this was the Old PC’s office building fondly referred to as ‘Hatches, Matches and Dispatches’ because of the births, marriages and deaths that were recorded here. Today, the building is a National Monument and serves as a museum holding temporary art exhibitions.

After the adventurous day, our representative will transfer you back to your hotel.

Day 4: Nairobi

After Breakfast, our representative will meet you and you will depart for yet another tour of Nairobi. Your tour will begin by visiting the Uhuru Gardens. Of importance to note is that it is Kenya’s birthplace. This is where the first Kenyan flag was first raised and thus marking the very first year of independence on the 12th December 1963.

You will later have a drive that will allow you to view the famous Kibera Slums. You will then visit the Mamba Village. This is a nature paradise spreading over 30 acres and is famous for its Crocodile Farm, hosting over an estimated 70 Nile crocodiles. Maasai Ostriches can also be found strutting around and visitors often come into direct personal contact with them when given the opportunity to feed these gallant birds.

Our representative will drive you to Westlands where you will have your lunch. You will also get a chance to do some shopping and interact with people. In the afternoon you will visit the Karura Forest. Karura Forest Reserve is located in the northern part of Nairobi city. At 1,041 hectares, it is one of the largest urban gazetted forests in the world.  The forest contains nearly all the 605 species of wildlife found in Nairobi including three types of antelope. You will have a chance to do photography, nature trails among others.

Later our representative will transfer you to Moi International Sports centre. It was built in 1987 for the All-Africa Games held in Nairobi. The facilities include a 60,000 seat arena with a running track and a pitch used for football and rugby union, a competition size swimming pool, an indoor arena and a 108-bed capacity hotel

After the adventurous day, our representative will transfer you back to your hotel for Dinner and freshening up as you get ready for the Nairobi Nightlife experience.

Overnight will be at Wildebeest eco Camp Nairobi.

 

Day 5: Nairobi – Lake Elementaita – Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, our representative will meet and greet you. After a short briefing you will start your journey to Lake Elementaita which is approximately 2 hours’ drive with stops at scenic sites. On arrival, you will enjoy morning walk along Lake Elementaita with great chances of seeing lots of water birds. Visit the hot springs and later have lunch nearby the lake. Elmenteita is derived from the Masaai word muteita, meaning “dust place”, a reference to the dryness and dustiness of the area, especially between January and March. Today the lake is a protected area due to its birdlife fame and also it has been named as one of the heritage sites. At the southern end of the lake are the “Kekopey” hot springs, in which the Tilapia grahami breed. Very popular for bathing, the local Maasai claim that it can cure AIDS.

After lunch depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, which is approximately 2 hours’ drive. You will arrive in the evening, check in and enjoy a Game Drive around the spectacular park.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru National Park

After Breakfast, you will have a full day game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park with parked lunch. You will enjoy a park drive and famous Fabulous Flamingo with a population of over 1.5 million birds, the Rhinos and Buffalos and many more other animal spices. Drive back to the Hotel for refreshing and dinner.

Lake Nakuru National Park located in the Great Rift Valley. On the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland, lies the beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park. Visitors can enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges. Lake Nakuru National Park is ideal for bird watching, hiking, picnic and game drives.

Day 7: Nakuru – Hyrax Hill Museum

You will have an early morning game drive. After breakfast, you will check out and our representative will drive you to Hyrax Hill Museum. Located within Nakuru town, Hyrax Hill Museum depicts the lifestyle of seasonal settlement by prehistoric people at least 3,000 years old. The Museum is a former farmhouse ceded to the monument in 1965, by the Late Mr. A. Selfe. A small museum was opened here where artifacts from the Hyrax Hill site and other sites in the Central Rift Valley are displayed.

After lunch you will visit the Menengai Crater. Located on the northern side of Nakuru is the single largest surviving volcanic crater in the world. The Menengai Crater is an extinct volcano that offers striking views of Lake Nakuru, Lake Bogoria and the crater itself. It is believed that the crater is a historic ground for a battle between different clans from the Maasai community who fought for grazing land and pastures on the slopes of the Rift Valley. For photography lovers, 8 km to the top of the crater, beautiful pink and blue colors of Lake Nakuru and Lake Bogoria become clearer and can make excellent pictures under a brisk sunset. You will later be transferred to your hotel within Nakuru town for check in, lunch entertainment and rest. You will have a chance to do shopping and see the nightlife in Nakuru.

Day 8: Nakuru – Lake Bogoria National Reserve

After an early breakfast at the Lodge, you will check out, you will set out for our fifth leg of the safari, which takes you to Lake Bogoria located inside Lake Bogoria National Reserve. It is approximately 3 hours’ drive from Nakuru.

On arrival, you will explore Lake Bogoria National Reserve – a saline water shallow located at the northern region of the Kenyan Rift, 25 kilometers south of Lake Baringo, on a game drive and walk around this spectacular lake in the heart of an arid landscape. The soda lake attracts massive flocks of flamingos and is often carpeted in pink, due to the high concentrations of flamingoes. Animal found in Lake Bogoria National Reserve include: Greater Kudu, Burchell’s Zebra warthogs, Forest hog Impala, Klipspringers, Cape buffalo, Patas Monkeys among others. Predators include genet, serval cat, cite and white tailed mongoose and cheetah. You will have lunch at the hotel.

You will also have a chance to see the Tugen traditional artifacts and have a unique and thrilling experience with the resident traditional dancers. The western shore has hot springs and spouting geysers, spurting steam and bubbling geothermal pools. Fresh water springs at the lake edge attract an abundance of birds and wildlife. Later in the evening you will return to the hotel.

Day 9: Bogoria – Lake Baringo

After Breakfast, our representative will drive you to Lake Baringo, a fresh water Rift Valley lake, famous for its magnificent bird life. Lake Baringo is well known for two of its waters’ residents–Hippo and Crocodile. Hippos are seen in the lake on boat trips, and at Lakeside lodges and camps. They are seen also seen at night grazing the lawns.

You will check in and have lunch. The rest of the day will be spent exploring Lake Baringo and its surrounding.

Day 10: Baringo – Kabarnet museum

After breakfast, you will visit the Kabarnet Museum. Kabarnet museum opened its doors to the public in 1996 in the former District Commissioner Residence. It has four main public galleries featuring the Rift Valley people, their culture, its environment, indigenous knowledge and science for education.

The main attraction include, the exhibits especially on the culture of the Keiyo / Marakwet, Samburu, Pokot, Nandi and Kipsigis. In addition an overview of the history of the district, from pre-colonial, colonial and post-independence era are on display. While the playground, homesteads and park provides visitors with attractive outdoor scenes.

After lunch, you will have a scenic drive to Tugen Hills. The Tugen Hills represent one of the few areas in Africa preserving a succession of deposits from the period of between 14 and 4 million years ago, making them an important location for the study of human (and animal) evolution.

Later you will be transferred to your hotel for overnight.

Day 11: Baringo – Maralal

After breakfast, you will depart for Maralal which is approximately8 hours’ drive with lunch enroute. On arrival you will check in at the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Kenyatta House – Maralal National Reserve

After breakfast you will visit the Kenyatta House Maralal. Built in 1959, Kenyatta House commemorates the place where negotiation for the countrys independence took place. It depicts the detention of Kenya’s fist president Mzee Jomo Kenyatta in 1961, prior to his release. It is while here that he completed writing his book Facing Mount Kenya.

Later you will visit Maralal National Reserve. The Maralal National Reserve is one of Kenya’s little known treasures. Tucked away in the centre of the country amidst the Ol Doinyo Lenkiyo Mountains, Maralal completely surrounds the Samburu town of the same name. Within the Reserve’s boundaries, eland, impala buffalo and zebra keep a watchful eye on predators such as the leopard and hyena. Seasonally, elephant pass through the Reserve descending from the forested hills to the north.

Later you will be transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 13: Maralal – Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, you will depart for Samburu National Reserve which is approximately 6 hours’ drive. You will arrive just in time for lunch. On arrival you will check in at the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Samburu National Reserve / Buffalo Springs / Shaba National Reserve

You will have a pre breakfast game drive. After breakfast, the rest of the day will be spent in the 3 in 1 reserve. At lunch hour, our representative will transfer you to the hotel for lunch. Then later embark on game viewing drives.

Samburu National Reserve is situated on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in Kenya. This means plenty of water, trees and shade to attract wildlife like elephant, lion, giraffe and zebra from the surrounding savannah plains. Leopards are also regularly spotted. Samburu Game Reserve is situated in the hot and arid fringes of Kenya’s vast Northern Frontier District.

The area is home to the Samburu tribe, pastoral relatives of the Masai. Samburu Reserve as a safari destination has rugged and dramatic landscape, the Ewaso Nyiro River runs along the southern boundary. You will have an hour or two to meet the community by visiting one of their villages.

Day 15: Samburu – Lewa Wildlife Conservancy

You will have a pre-breakfast game drive. Later return to the hotel for breakfast and check out. Our representative will drive you to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. You will arrive just in time for lunch, check in and refresh. In the evening you will enjoy a game drive around the conservancy.

Day 16: Lewa Wildlife Conservancy – Ngare Ndare Forest

After breakfast you will have a morning game drive. You will visit Ngare Ndare forest with packed lunch. Ngare Ndare forest has several attractions which can be of interest to visitors of diverse interests. First, being an extension of the Mt. Kenya forest it has a variety of indigenous plants, some of which have herbal remedies. The dominant tree species are the Juniperus procera and Olea africana. Second, the forest is also a migratory corridor for elephants and other wild animals to and from Mt. Kenya and the Northern Rangelands. Third, it is also favoured as a sanctuary by animals such as the elephant, rhino and buffalo, where they reside to give birth, nurse their injuries, recuperate or die.  It is home to several other wild animals, bird and insect species.

Ngare Ndare forest has numerous beautiful and tranquil physical features such as sundowner sites, permanent springs, water falls, rapids and rock outcrops.

Later you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 17: Lewa Wildlife Conservancy – Mt Kenya National Park

You will have a pre-breakfast game drive. Later return to the hotel for breakfast and check out. Our representative will drive you to Mt Kenya National Park. You will arrive just in time for lunch, check in and refresh. In the evening you will enjoy a game drive around the park. Mount Kenya straddles the equator about 193 km north-east of Nairobi and about 480 km from the Kenyan coast. At 5,199 m, Mount Kenya is the second highest peak in Africa and is an ancient extinct volcano. There are 12 remnant glaciers on the mountain, all receding rapidly, and four secondary peaks that sit at the head of the U-shaped glacial valleys. With its rugged glacier-clad summits and forested middle slopes, Mount Kenya is one of the most impressive landscapes in East Africa. The evolution and ecology of its afro-alpine flora also provide an outstanding example of ecological processes.

Day 18: Mt Kenya National Park – Ol Pejeta Conservancy

You will have a pre-breakfast game drive. Later return to the hotel for breakfast and check out. Our representative will drive you to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. You will arrive just in time for lunch, check in and refresh. In the evening you will enjoy a game drive around the park. Ol Pejeta has the highest ratio of game to area of any park or reserve in Kenya and it offers a great game viewing experience, camel tracking, lion tracking and al fresco dining.

Later you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 19: Ol Pejeta Conservancy – Nanyuki – Wajir

After breakfast, you will have a morning Game Drive. Then you will check out of the hotel and our representative will transfer you to Nanyuki Airstrip to catch a flight to Wajir. On arrival, you will be transferred to your pre- booked hotel for check in and late lunch.

Day 20: Wajir Town – Wajir Museum – Marsabit

After breakfast, you will visit the Wajir Museum. The main objective of this museum is to give you a glimpse of the rich cultural, historical and natural heritage of Northern Kenya and its interaction with the world. The Wajir Museum houses an exhibition that reflects traditions and the customs of communities living in this Northern part of Kenya. The theme of the exhibition is “A Window to Northern Kenya”.

It is a part of initiatives to open up Northern Kenya to the tourism industry forming a part of the tourist attractions that will offer distinctive products in the region. The following nine communities form the northern part of Kenya: Borana, Rendile, Turkana, Elmolo, Pokot, Samburu, Somali, Dasanach and Gabbra. They live a nomadic way of life in a semi-arid environment which supports camel, cattle, sheep, goats and donkeys.The Elmolo are fishermen while the Dasanach prectice agro-pastoralism.

Later you will visit Wajir town. It is a host to several other Sites and Monuments among them the Wagalla Massacre Site, Yahut dam, Shaletey wells, and monumental buildings, the British bunkers and Orpahey wells. You will visit Wajir town.

In the afternoon you will be transferred to the airstrip to catch your flight to Marsabit. On arrival you will be transferred to the hotel for check in, overnight and dinner.

Day 21: Marsabit National Reserve – Marsabit Museum

After breakfast, you will visit Marsabit National Reserve. Far to the north of Kenya, a densely forested mountain and three crater lakes provide a haven for a variety of birdlife, mammals and reptiles. The beautiful Marsabit National Park is a refuge for huge tusked bull elephants, diverse birdlife and reptiles. Hikes in the dense forest, wreathed in mist can be enjoyed along with camel rides, bird watching and visits to the singing wells.

After lunch you will visit Marsabit museum. Later you will be transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 22: Karori Desert drive – Marsabit – Turkana

After breakfast you will have a scenic drive at Karori desert. You will have picnic lunch in the desert. Later you will return to the hotel for check out. Our representative will transfer you to the airstrip for your evening flight to Turkana. On arrival you will be transferred to your pre-booked hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 23: Turkana: Loiyangalani Desert Museum – South Island National Park

After breakfast you will visit the Loiyangalani Desert Museum.  Located on top of a hill, with a backdrop of the picturesque Lake Turkana, also known as the “Jade Sea”, the Desert Museum, Loiyangalani was opened in June 2008. The National Museums of Kenya in realizing the unique cultures in this region and following its mandate to preserve and promote Kenya’s rich cultural and natural heritage, presents you with rich heritage of the eight communities living around Lake Turkana. Loiyangalani is a small town located on the southeastern coast of the lake. The name Loiyangalani, means “a place of many trees” in the native Samburu Language and is also home to the El Molos, an almost extinct community.

The town was formed from a freshwater spring and can be termed as an Oasis in the desert. It is fast becoming a tourist attraction due to the unique desert environment coupled with the rich cultural lifestyle of the peoples of Lake Turkana. The communities living in this area include the; El Molo, Turkana, Pokot, Rendile, Samburu, Gabbra, Watta and Dassanach.

After lunch you will have a visit to South Island National Park. Covered end to end in volcanic ash, the nightly glow of its South Island’s luminous vents has inspired numerous tales of ghosts and evil spirits. The island is home to a profusion of birdlife including 34 species of European migrants most spectacularly viewed as they return home between March and May. At least 23 species breed here, including Goliath heron, and African skimmer, while African open-billed stork, Duck and Gulls feed on the shores and the volcanic island lakes attract lesser flamingos. Birds of prey are also abundant, especially swallow-tailed kites. This park is ideal for game watching and has one of the world’s largest concentrations of crocodiles.

Day 24: Loiyangalani – Sibiloi National Park

After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel. Our representative will drive you to Sibiloi National Park, which is 8 hours’ drive. You will have scenic stops along the way. On arrival, you will be transferred to your pre- booked hotel for check in, dinner and refreshing.

Day 25: Sibiloi National Park – Koobi Fora Museum

After breakfast, this day will be spent at Sibiloi National Park with a visit to Koobi For a Museum. Located on the wild and rugged shores of Lake Turkana – the cradle of mankind – Sibiloi is home to important archaeological sites including Koobi Fora where the fossil remains have contributed more to the understanding of human evolution than any other site in the continent. The area is characterized by semi-desert habitat and open plains flanked by volcanic formations including Mount Sibiloi, where the remains of a petrified forest can be seen. Sibiloi serves as a stopover for migrant waterfowl and is a major breeding ground for the Nile crocodile. Terrestrial wildlife includes zebras, Grant gazelles, lions, leopards, stripped hyenas, Beisa Oryx, greater kudu, cheetahs and northern topi among others. A total of over 350 species of aquatic and terrestrial bird have been recorded in Lake Turkana. Sibiloi is surrounded by the Turkana, the Gabra and the Dassanach who are communities with very rich and unpolluted traditional cultures.

Day 26: Sibiloi National Park – Eliye Springs

After breakfast you will be transferred to Eliye Springs through a boat ride. On arrival you will check in at the hotel and have lunch. You will spend the rest of the day at leisure with optional visit to the fish spot. Also known as Ille Springs, this is a beautiful site with a unique beach located in a remote village on the Western side of Lake Turkana. It produces lush vegetation along its section of the otherwise barren lakeshore, and supports a community of about 5000 people with fresh drinking water. You will have time to interact with the community.

Day 27: Turkana – Kitale – Mt Elgon National Park

After breakfast, our representative will transfer you to Lodwar (approximately 2hrs drive) take your morning flight to Kitale. You will have like an hour at Lodwar town to do shopping. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for check in and lunch. In the afternoon you will have a scenic drive to Mt. Elgon National park. Mt. Elgon is dotted with caves formed from ancient lava tubes namely Kitum, Making’eny, Chepnyalil, Ngwarisha and many others some of which are outside protected areas

Kitum Cave is regularly visited by herds of elephants, dubbed the troglodyte tuskers, as well as bushbuck, Red Duiker, Grey Duiker and buffalo, all in search of the salts that abound in the mineral-rich earth of the caves. Making’eny Cave, located 1.5km from Kitum, has a spectacular waterfall over its mouth.

Later you will be transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 28: Kitale Museum – Tambach Museum – Saiwa Swampm National Park

After breakfast you will visit Kitale Museum. The Kitale Museum has a lot of ethnographical materials collected from surrounding ethnic groups in addition to Stoneham’s collections. The museum now practice environmental conservation. It has a nature trail and Olof Palme Memorial Agroforestry – center, which was started in 1983. Its aim (the center) was to promote agroforestry in West Pokot district.

Later, you will have a scenic drive to Saiwa Swamp National Park. A veritable haven for nature lovers, the Saiwa Swamp National Park is a forested paradise filled with exotic flowers, trees and birds. It is also the habitat of the rare and endangered semi-aquatic Sitatunga antelope and as a preserve for the rare De Brazza’s monkey. Within this tropical wetlands and mosaic of riverine forest, sedges and acacia woodlands, with fringing dense rushes and grass bedsBird life is abundant.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Tambach Museum. Tambach is one of the oldest towns in Kenya. It was established in 1920s as a British colonial center of administering Elgeiyo and Marakwet people for much of the colonial period, the town grew from a tiny village to a busy urban center.By the end of 1950s, Tambach developed into a very pretty little town.

The museum was established to safeguard the Tambach heritage site and the culture of the Keiyo and Marakwet people.Tambach has a rich cultural heritage. It is famous for the Sirikwa Holes constructed by the Sirikwa people in the 17th & 18th centuries.

Day 29: Kapenguria Museum

After breakfast, you will visit the Kapenguria Museum in West Pokot. The Kapenguria museum was opened in 1993. It is located in Kapenguria town, at the site where the six most influential leaders in the struggle for independence were detained. To preserve the history of the struggle for independence, the National Museums of Kenya with financial support from the Dutch funded Arid and Semi-Arid Lands project in West Pokot preserved and rehabilitated the prison.

The Kapenguria six were the founding fathers of the Kenyan Nation – Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, Kungu Karumba, Mr. Fred Kubai, Mr. Paul Ngei, Bildad Kaggia and the Hon. Ramogi Achieng Oneko. All of them have passed on although their legacy will always remain alive.

Displays in the Museum include books and documents in a memorial library in honour of all heroes who participated in the struggle for independence.

Day 31: Kakamega Forest National Reserve – Kisumu

After breakfast, you will visit Kakamega Forest National Reserve. Time has stood still for the Kakamega Forest, a remnant of the rain forest that stretched all across Central Africa. This beautiful forest is home to various mammals including bush pigs, giant forest hedgehogs, colobus monkeys, Debrazzar monkeys and pottos. Some of the birds to be seen here include the Blue Headed Bee Eater, Black Billed Turaco, Turner’s Eremomela and Grey Parrots. Bird watching, hiking and rock climbing can be enjoyed here in the serenity of the forest that time forgot.

After lunch our representative will drive you to Kisumu with stops at scenic places. On arrival you will check in to your pre-booked hotel, freshen up and have dinner.

Day 32: Kisumu Museum – Kisumu Impala Sanctuary

After breakfast, you will visit the Kisumu Museum. Kisumu Museum is located in Kisumu town along the Kisumu – Kericho highway. It was opened to the public in 1980. The museum stores and disseminates information on cultural and scientific issues with emphasis on Western Kenya. Exhibits include cultural history. The museum provides educational services to schools in its neighborhood. Striking features of the museum include a diverse collection of flora and fauna species. The most notable animals are reptiles and amphibians, collected from Nyanza and neighboring provinces. A traditional Luo homestead and other traditional Luo artifacts constitute part of the exhibits the museum keeps.

You will also have a Kisumu City tour with lunch in the city.

In the afternoon you will visit Kisumu Impala Sanctuary. Set on the shore of Lake Victoria, the largest freshwater lake in Africa, the Kisumu Impala Sanctuary is a peaceful, relaxing place to enjoy the natural beauty that abounds here. The sanctuary hosts impalas, the rare Sitatunga antelope as well as big cats, buffalos, giraffes, cheetahs and several primate species. The sanctuary is also home to five campsites all with spectacular views of Lake Victoria. Bird watching, nature walks and glass bottomed boat rides compliment the activities availed at the sanctuary.

Day 33: Kisumu

Afterbreakfast, you will visit a number of historical sites and monuments nearby among them being Chemogoch Pre-historic site, Muguruk archaeological site, Tom Mboya Mausoleum, Kanam Prehistoric Site and Simbi Nyaima.

In the afternoon you will visit Mfangano Island. One is spoilt of choice on which spot to begin touring; there is the adequately packed Abasuba Community Museum where artifacts of the Abasuba people who are inhabitants of the Island are preserved. In the community maintained museum, one is bound to enjoy oral traditions of a community tracing its roots from the Buganda people of Uganda. The main rock painting sites in the rocky island are Mawanga, a huge cave with geometric paintings.

Day 34: Kisumu – Kericho

After breakfast, you will spend the mid-morning at leisure. You will have time to interact with the community, do shopping, buy souveners and self-discovery tours. Day 35: Kericho

After breakfast, you will have a visit at a Tea Plantation. You will also get a chance to participate in tea picking. Kericho is the biggest town in Kericho County located in the highlands west of the Kenyan Rift Valley. Standing on the edge of the Mau Forest, Kericho has a warm and temperate climate making it an ideal location for agriculture and in particular, the large scale cultivation of tea.

Later you will visit Fort Ternan which served by a railway station on the branch line to Kisumu on the national railway system. You will also visit Kericho Wagon Works Ltd is located in Kericho, Kenya. Company is working in Construction Services, Real Estate Agents business activities.

Day 37: Narok Museum – Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, you will visit the Narok Museum. The National Museums of Kenya has setup a Museum in Narok with exhibitions of pictures and artifacts to preserve the beauty and strength of the rich traditional culture of the Maasai and other speakers of the Maa language.

The Maa speakers in Kenya comprise the Maasai (Narok and Kajiado district), Samburu (Samburu, Laikipia district), Njemps (Baringo district) and groups of Ndorobo neighboring the Maasai.

The Maasai are believed to have originated from North Africa and entered Kenya near L. Turkana, spreading south through the Rift Valley, which provided extensive grazing grounds for their cattle. Today they occupy parts of Kenya and Tanzania.

The Maasai are noble, aristocratic people with an impressive physical appearance and a technology appropriate to the harsh environmental conditions of tropical savannah.

The Maa Museum was formerly a Community hall, which was transformed into a museum comprising an office, collection room and exhibition gallery. The Maa Museum is located in a West-North-West direction 141 km from Nairobi at the entrance of Narok town.

After lunch you will check out of the hotel and our representative will drive you to Masai Mara National reserve which is approximately 3 to 4 hours’ drive. You will arrive, check into your pre-booked hotel and freshen up. Later you will have dinner and entertainment at the hotel.

Day 38: Masai Mara National Reserve

You will have an early morning game drive,  this being the best time to see animals as they roam the plains feeding before the heat of the day sends them to the shades, return to the lodge for a late buffet breakfast.  The rest of the morning will be spent at leisure with lunch till afternoon where you will visit a Masai Village and a Masai School.  The Mara is the ancestral home of the ancient warrior people – the Maasai.  Fiercely proud and self- reliant, traditionally pastoral nomads, who have clung to their ancient way of life; living in harmony with their environment and the wildlife, together with their cattle, with whom they share a strong, almost mystical bond.  Their houses are called Manyatas. This will be an interesting opportunity for you to learn their lifestyles.

Day 39: Masai Mara National Reserve

This day will be spent at leisure with meals at the hotel and optional Game Drives.

Considered to be the jewel and highlight of any Kenyan safari, you’ll be enchanted by the diversity of animals, and topography.  In late spring, the grazers mainly wildebeest, cross the river bordering Tanzania with Kenya and travel north to the Maasai Mara for the green grasses.  Of course, the predators follow.  Here there are sightings of lion, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, hyena, warthog, wildebeest, and zebra, just to name but a few.

Day 40: Masai Mara National Reserve – Naivasha

After an early game drive, breakfast and check out, you will bid Mara Khaheri. You will have a stop at Narok town for shopping and lunch. Our representative will drive you to Naivasha, with optional scenic stops along the way. Arrive at your pre-booked hotel, check in and rest.

Day 41: Hell’s Gate National Park

After breakfast, our representative will drive you to Hell’s Gate National Park in Naivasha, which is approximately 2 hours’ drive. Named for the intense geothermal activity within its boundaries, the Hell’s Gate National Park is a remarkable quarter of the Great Rift Valley. Spectacular scenery including the towering cliffs, water-gouged gorges, stark rock towers, scrub clad volcanoes and belching plumes of geothermal steam make it one of the most atmospheric Parks in Africa. Hell’s Gate is an ideal venue for a day trip from Nairobi where, in addition to the bio-diversity that includes raptors, visitors can enjoy mountain biking, rock climbing.

In the afternoon, you will spend time at Ol Karia Geothermal Spa. The first thing that catches your attention as you walk towards the poolside is the breath-taking view of the expansive main pool with the hills and towers of steam that seems to fuse with the clouds in the background. The adult pool is massive, and save for the tiny rock island at the center, you’d think it was a mini-lake. Later you will be transferred to your hotel for overnight.

Day 42: Mt Longonot Hiking

After Breakfast, you will have a full day hiking at Mt. Longonot with packed lunch. Rising from the floor of the Great Rift Valley like a monolith is the extinct volcano of Mount Longonot. A unique feature is the thick forest that lies within the crater of the mountain. The crater rim also provides great scenic views across the beautiful Rift Valley all the way to Lake Naivasha. Major wildlife attractions at Mount Longonot include buffaloes, elands, lion, leopard, bushbucks, common zebra, giraffe and Grant’s gazelles. In the evening our representative will transfer you to hotel for overnight.

Day 43: Naivasha – Nairobi

After breakfast, you will spend the midmorning at leisure with optional boat rides at Lake Naivasha. After Lunch and check out, our representative will meet you and you will depart for Nairobi which is approximately 2 hours’ drive. You will visit a Masai market in the city for souvenir shopping and interacting with the community. Later you will be transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Overnight will be at Wildebeest eco Camp Nairobi.

 

Day 44: Nairobi

After breakfast, this day will be spent relaxing. You will be taken to a massage parlor for full body massage. This will help you relax after a long trip and help you get ready for the trips ahead.

Day 45: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, our representative will drive you to Amboseli National Park which is approximately 4 hours’ drive. Arrive at your pre-booked Safari Lodge in time for lunch. Have lunch; check in and rest. Later enjoy an evening game viewing drive in the park. The park is home to the huge herds of the African Elephant. The park also plays host to lions, buffaloes, the elusive leopard, wildebeest, giraffes, zebras, a variety of antelopes and other smaller plains game. During the dry season it is semi-arid terrains and during the wet season, the seasonal “Amboseli Swamp” becomes home to many species.

Day 46: Amboseli National Park

This day will be spent at Amboseli National Park with Game drives around the park and meals at your lodge. The park is home to the huge herds of the African Elephant. The park also plays host to lions, buffaloes, the elusive leopard, wildebeest, giraffes, zebras, a variety of antelopes and other smaller plains game. During the dry season it is semi-arid terrains and during the wet season, the seasonal “Amboseli Swamp” becomes home to many species.

Day 47: Amboseli National Park – Tsavo West National Park

Early morning game drive Get back to the Hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, check out and depart for Tsavo West National Park which is approximately 4 hours’ drive. You will arrive just in time for lunch. Check in, have lunch and later have an evening game drive.

From the sight of fifty million gallons of crystal clear water gushing out of from the under parched lava rock that is the Mzima Springs  to the Shetani  lava flows, Tsavo West is a beautiful, rugged wilderness. The savannah ecosystem comprises of open grasslands, scrublands, and Acacia woodlands, belts of riverine vegetation and rocky ridges including the Poacher’s Lookout where visitors can see the teeming herds in the plains below. Tsavo West offers some of the most magnificent game viewing in the world and attractions include elephant, rhino, Hippos, lions, cheetah, leopards, Buffalos, diverse plant and bird species including the threatened corncrake and near threatened Basra Reed Warbler.

Day 48: Tsavo West National Park – Taita Hills Game Sanctuary

After breakfast, you will have a morning game drive. Come back for check out and our representative will drive you to Tsavo East National Park, which is approximately 2 hours’ drive.

After check in and lunch, you will spend the sometime at leisure. Thereafter you will have a Game drive. We will search the sanctuary for wildlife until1830hrs when we return to our lodge.

Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is a privately owned wildlife sanctuary in Kenya located in the Coast Province in Taita-Taveta District approximately 220 kilometers from Mombasa. Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary covers an area of 280,000 acres (1,100 km2), and is adjacent to Tsavo West National Park and the LUMO Community Wildlife Sanctuary. It hosts Cape buffalo, Elephant, Leopard, Masai lion, Masai Giraffe, Zebra, Hartebeest, Impala, Waterbuck, Thomson’s gazelle, lesser kudu, dik-dik, and other smaller animals, including a great diversity of bird life.

Day 49: Taita Hills Game Sanctuary – Tsavo East National Park

Arise early and have a cup of coffee and head out for an early morning game drive by 0630hrs. We will search this park again for animals against the back drop of a Kenyan sun rise. Thereafter we will return to the lodge by 0830hrs for a full breakfast. After breakfast, you can freshen up and we check out of the lodge and have a small game drive while we exit the park by 1100hrs. Our representative will drive you to Tsavo East National Park, which is approximately 3 hours’ drive. Check in and spend the day at leisure with lunch at the lodge. Later you will have an evening Game Drive.

Day 50: Tsavo East National Park – Voi

After breakfast, you will have a morning Game Drive. You will check out of the hotel. Our representative will drive you to Voi Town which is approximately 2 hours’ drive. Check in at the hotel and have lunch. Voi is the largest town in Taita-Taveta County in southern Kenya, in the former Coast Province. It lies at the western edge of the Taru Desert, south and west of the Tsavo East National Park. In the afternoon you will have time to do shopping and visit nearby scenic sites for photographs. Later you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 51: Voi – Lamu – Takwa Ruins

After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel. Our representative will transfer you to Voi Airstrip to catch your flight to Lamu. On arrival, our representative will transfer you to your pre-booked Lamu hotel for check in and Lunch. In the afternoon you will visit Takwa Ruins. Takwa ruins are the remains of a thriving 15th and 16th century Swahili trading town before it was abandoned in the seventeenth century. It is not only important because of its period of occupation but also because of its dense settlement and it’s relatively well preserved remains. The unique Friday Mosque with a large pillar a top the qibla wall is among the most notable features. This pillar is believed to symbolize the burial of a Sheikh below the wall. Later you will be transferred back to the hotel.

Day 52: Lamu – Siyu Fort – Lamu Museum

After breakfast, you will have a full day Lamu tour. You will start with The Historic Lamu Town tour. The isolated island, with streets so narrow such that donkeys provide almost the only mode of transport makes the town quite unique. Lamu Old Town is the oldest and best-preserved Swahili settlement in East Africa, retaining its traditional functions. Built in coral stone and mangrove timber, the town is characterized by the simplicity of structural forms enriched by such features as inner courtyards, verandas, and elaborately carved wooden doors. Lamu has hosted major Muslim religious festivals since the 19th century, and has become a significant centre for the study of Islamic and Swahili cultures.

Later you will visit The Lamu Museum. The construction of Lamu Fort commenced in 1813, shortly after Lamu’s victory over Pate and Mombasa in the battle of Shela. This major building task was reputedly undertaken with the cooperation of Seyyid Said, the Sultan of Oman who was then cultivating a promising new alliance with Lamu.

After lunch, you will also visit Siyu Fort. Siyu is the only town that built a fort of its own, unlike Mombasa and Lamu where the forts were put up by foreigners. Oral tradition indicate that the fort was built by one of Siyu’s leaders, Bwana Mataka, whose full name was Mohammed Ishaq bin Mbarak bin Mohamed bin Oman Famau in the 19th century to safeguard Siyu residents from Omani Arabs domination.

Day 53: Pate Ruins – Fort Lamu – Brooks Quarry

After breakfast, you will spend the day at leisure. In the afternoon, you will visit Pate Ruins. Pate Island is located in the Indian Ocean close to the northern coast of Kenya, to which it belongs. It is the largest island in the Lamu Archipelago, which lie between the towns of Lamu and Kiunga in the former Coast Province. The island is almost completely surrounded by mangroves.

Later you will be transferred back to the hotel.

Day 54: Lamu – Malindi – Malindi Museum

After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and start your adventurous tour. On arrival at Malindi you will have a Malindi Old town tour. After lunch you will visit the Malindi Museum. The building was bought from the Bohra community for 2,000 English Pounds after a longer period of occupation by the Medical Department who had used the building to serve as the Malindi Native Civil Hospital.

Later, you will be transferred to your pre-booked hotel, freshen up as you prepare for dinner and evening entertainment.

Day 55: Malindi Marine Park – Vasco Da Gama Pillar

After breakfast, you will tour the Malindi Marine Park and enjoy a Glass Boat ride which enables one to see the Marine life. If they love swimming can also do some snorkeling in the Marine Park.

You will also be able to see coral garden.” From swimming Indian Ocean coastline provides the perfect getaway. The park is endowed with magnificent resources such as fringing reefs, coral gardens in the lagoons, sea grass beds, mangroves, mudflats, marine mammals, turtles and various species of shorebirds. Beach walks in this veritable paradise.

After lunch, you will proceed to visit the Vasco da Gama pillar. This bell shaped architecture stands majestically on a cliff and is one of the oldest European monuments built at the East African coast in 1498 amidst Muslim resistance. It was built by the Portuguese to give direction for those who were following the sea route to India. Later, you will visit The Crocodile farm in Malindi.

Day 56: Malindi – Watamu – Gede Ruins

After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and depart for Watamu. You will visit Gede Ruins. Gede ruins are the remains of a Swahili town, typical of most towns along the East African Coast. It traces its origin in the twelfth century but was rebuilt with new town walls in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. This rebuilding is connected with the emigration of many citizens of Kilwa to Mombasa, Malindi and other places along the coast. Later you will be transferred to your pre booked hotel for check in, dinner, freshening up, evening entertainment and overnight.

Day 57: Watamu Marine Park

After breakfast, you will visit the butterfly farm and Watamu Marine National Park. Green turtles, unique coral gardens, the Gede Ruins – the Watamu Marine National Park & Reserve has it all. The park is part of a complex of marine and tidal habitats along the Kenya’s north coast with rich and diverse bird life, fish, turtles and dugongs. Visitors can enjoy the white sandy beaches, snorkeling, water skiing, windsurfing and glass bottomed boat tours Later you will be transferred back to the hotel.

Day 58: Watamu – Arabuko Sokoke Forest Reserve – Kilifi

After an early breakfast, you will visit The Arabuko Sokoke Forest Reserve.  It is the largest and most intact coastal forest in East Africa, with 20% of Kenya’s bird species, 30% butterfly species and at least 24 rare and endemic bird, mammal and butterfly species. Later return to hotel for lunch and check out. Our representative will transfer you to Kilifi, check in to your pre-booked hotel for dinner, evening entertainment, freshening up and overnight.

Day 59: Mnarani ruins – Jumba la Mtwana

This day you will have full day tour in Kilifi. You will visit Mnarani Ruins Museum. The site was first occupied in the early 14th century but the first mosque; the Great Mosque was not built until AD 1425. Enlargements were undertaken soon thereafter, followed by major reconstruction efforts later in the 15th century following the collapse of the earlier building. The ruins consisting of two Mosques and a group of tombs.

Later you will visit Jumba la Mtwana. The full name Jumba la Mtwana means in Swahili “the large house of the slave”. Within this area four mosques, a tomb and four houses have survived in recognizable condition. These houses include the House of the Cylinder, The House of the Kitchen, The House of the Many Pools, which had three phases, and the Great Mosque. The inhabitants of this town were mainly Muslims as evidence by a number of ruined mosques.

You will also visit Takaungu and Kilepwa Island.

Day 60: Kilifi – Rabai Museum – Mombasa

After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel. Our first stop will be at Rabai Museum. Rabai is well known in the annals of history as the place where Christianity and modern learning in Kenya started well over 150 years ago. In 1994 the Krapf Memorial Museum was founded to give formal and a perpetual reminder to monumental events during the advent of early missionaries. Stories about the first missionaries were passed on by word of mouth and are still told today.

Later you will drive to Mombasa. You will arrive at your pre-booked hotel just in time for lunch. You will check in and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 61: Mombasa Marine Park – Haller Park

After breakfast, you will visit The Mombasa Marine Park, “the allure of natural beauty”. Its blue waters are ideal for wind surfing, water skiing, snorkeling and diving. They also provide a home to a colorful variety of marine species including crabs, starfish, stone fish, cucumbers sea urchins, corals, turtles, sea grasses and interesting migratory birds including crab plovers.

In the afternoon, you will visit Haller Park. Haller Park is a nature park in Bamburi, Mombasa, on the Kenyan coast. It is the transformation of a quarry wasteland into an ecological area. Haller Park holds a variety of plant and animal species which serve as a recreation spot for tourists and locals.

Later you will be transferred back to the hotel.

Day 62: Mombasa City Tour – Fort Jesus – Wild Water

After breakfast, you will have a Mombasa city tour. You will visit the Akamba wood carving centre, Elephant tusk, Indian cum Railway station, Mombasa fruit vegetable spice market, view the ferry, drive via Mama Ngina street and State house, the Fort Jesus, visit the Old town, view the narrow streets, view the hanging balconies, visit the Fish market, Slave market, Slave market police Station, engage in intricately curved Arab Swahili, visit the Old port and much more.

After the city tour you will visit to Fort Jesus. The Portuguese built Fort Jesus in 1593. The site chosen was a coral ridge at the entrance to the harbor. The Fort was designed by an Italian Architect and Engineer, Joao, Batista Cairato. The earliest known plan of the Fort is in a manuscript Atlas by Manuel Godinho de Heredia – dated 1610 which shows the original layout of the buildings inside the Fort. Fort Jesus was built to secure the safety of Portuguese living on the East Coast of Africa.

In the afternoon, you will visit Wild Waters where you will engage in water slides.

The Mijikenda Kaya Forests consist of 11 separate forest sites spread over some 200 km along the coast containing the remains of numerous fortified villages, known as kayas, of the Mijikenda people. The kayas, created as of the 16th century but abandoned by the 1940s, are now regarded as the abodes of ancestors and are revered as sacred sites and, as such, are maintained as by councils of elders. The site is inscribed as bearing unique testimony to a cultural tradition and for its direct link to a living tradition.

Day 65: Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park – Wasini Island – Shimoni caves

After breakfast you will visit KisiteMpunguti Marine Park, the home of the Dolphin. Unspoiled, beautiful and sun kissed, the Kisite Marine Park was established to protect the scenic islands and special habitats of a wide range of endemic marine animals and breeding migratory birds. It lies in the coral gardens south of Wasini Island and encompasses three small coral rag forest islands, each with considerable areas of fringing reef. Kisite is one of the most rewarding snorkeling locations at the coast. Visitors can also enjoy bird watching, diving and of course, sunbathing.

Later you will visit the Wasini Island which is within the Marine Park. Here you will have a chance to interact with Wasini community and learn a bit about their culture. You will have lunch at Wasini.

You will also visit the Slave caves. They are vast and some portions are filled with fruit and insect feeding bats. Shimoni caves are reputed to extend 5 km inland connecting to the 3 sister’s caves. These caves served for centuries as ‘Kayas’ or sacred sites of worship and sanctuary for the local community. Later in the 18th and 19th century, the caves are also believed to have served as the holding areas for the thousands of captured slaves who were in transit to the infamous Arabian slave markets of Zanzibar.  You will later be transferred back to your hotel in Diani.

Day 66: Diani Beach

This day will be spent at leisure with meals at the hotel. There are various activities you can engage in, such as swimming at the pool, beach walks, shopping, self-discovery tours with extra fees set by locals, massage Spa at a fee among others.

Day 67: Shimba Hills National Park – Sheldrick Falls

After breakfast, you will visit Shimba Hills National Reserve, The Sheldrick Falls and Mwaluganje Forest. As one of the largest coastal forests in East Africa, this reserve is rich in flora and fauna and hosts the highest density of African elephant in Kenya. Other animal species found in the area are Sable antelope, elephant shrew, bushy tailed mongoose and other small mammals like fruit bats. The forest is an important bird area and is endowed with forest birdlife while the grasslands hold localized species such as red-necked-Spur fowl, Croaking Cisticola and Zanzibar Red Bishop. The scenic Sheldrick Falls and the dense Mwaluganje Forest are also found here

Day 68: Ukunda – Nairobi

After your breakfast you will leave all the breezes, the beach, and buffets, the palms to travel back to Nairobi via one hour flight. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for refreshment, rest and overnight.

Day 69: Nairobi – Olorgesailie pre-historic site – Lake Magadi – Hot Springs

After an early breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and you will start your journey to Magadi. You will have a stop at Olorgesailie pre-historic site. It is world renown as the “factory of stone tools” and the only place in the world with the largest number. The prominence and accumulation of human tools represents actual camping places of early men and evidence that human species had a tropical origin. The site is in a lake basin that existed about 100,000 to 200’000 years ago.

After lunch, you will proceed to Lake Magadi. Lake Magadi is an amazing unique and serene destination for nature lovers, bird lovers and adventure camping tourists. Endowed with a wide variety of bird species, the lake’s spectacular geographical landscape to the northern part serves as the main attraction to many visitors in search of pristine camping grounds in vast wilderness.

You will have a tour around Lake Magadi. In the evening, drive to the hot springs; you can bath and dip yourself in the hot massaging water. This is a natural basin curved depression on the ground with bubbling hot waters. The water is believed to have medicinal value to the skin curing ailments such as skin rushes, pimples and acne, dry skin conditions and also helps in strengthening the bones in the body. A late evening or early morning bath is a thrilling massage-like, best experience one can have.

Later you will be transferred to your hotel for check in, dinner and refreshing.

Day 70: Lake Magadi – Nairobi

After breakfast, you will have time to interact with the community and possibly buy some souvenirs. You will then check out of the hotel and start your journey back to Nairobi. You will stop for lunch at Masai Lodge. Later be transferred to your hotel for dinner, overnight and refreshing.

Day 71: Nairobi – Fourteen Falls – Rapids Camp

After breakfast, you will departs in the morning from Nairobi and drive north some 45 km from the city centre to arrive at Blue Posts Hotel, established in 1908 as a stopover for white settlers who farmed and lived in central Kenya. Once at fourteen falls, a local guide will lead you down a rocky path to the near side base of the falls where you get a boat for crossing the river. Fourteen Falls derives the name from their 14 distinct waterfalls on the broad section of the famous Athi River.

The experienced boat guides use a long pole, guiding the boat on a leisurely ride downstream, back upstream and across the river to a rocky bank on the far side. The view of the falls from the boat is extraordinary! You may spend a couple of hours strolling around the rocks at the base of the fall and enjoy the fresh air, breathtaking view and local flora.

Later you will drive to Rapids Waterfalls located at the Sagana Rapids Camp. It is a camp that offers a range of services including white water rafting, ziplining and camping. They are located in Sagana Town along Murang’a Road. Here you will have lunch and engage in various water activities.

Day 72: Rapid’s Camp – Nyeri

This day will be spent at the Rapid camp with breakfast and lunch at the camp. In the late afternoon you will check out of the camp. Our representative will drive you to Nyeri which is approximately 3 hours’ drive. On arrival you will be transferred to your pre-booked hotel for check in, dinner and overnight.

Day 73: Nyeri Museum – Nyeri Historical Sites

After breakfast, you will visit the Nyer Museum. Nyeri Museum is housed in a National monument which was once used as a “Native law court”. It was built in 1924 and started functioning in 1925. Its main objective was to deal with customary law cases, previously dealt with by clan elders in the villages. As these cases increased, one courtroom could not handle the volume and thus another hall was built. Court one dealing with civil cases like pregnancy and debtor cases, and court two dealing with criminal cases like theft and murder.

You will have lunch and in the afternoon, you will visit a number of historical sites among them being

Maumau Mass grave, Maumau cave, Baden powell Grave, Italian memorial church and Queen Elizabeth monument

Later you will be transferred back to the hotel.

Day 74: Aberdare National Park – Thomson Falls

After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel. You will have a Morning Game Drive at Aberdares National Park. Picturesque, steep forested ravines and open moorland characterise the Aberdare National Park. The park provides a habitat for elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs and bushbucks among others. Rare sightings include those of the Giant Forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat, African civet cat and the blue duiker.  You will have lunch. In the afternoon our representative will drive you to Thomson Falls which is approximately 3 hours’ drive. You will check in and freshen up.

Day 75: Thomson Falls – Meru

After breakfast, you will have a visit to Thomson Falls.  You will have the opportunity to explore the enchanting waterfalls that attract colorful birds and provide good photographic opportunities.

Other Activities to partake include: A nature walk to the base of Thomson Falls, Take a walk to Hippo point to look at the hippos up close, Trout fishing, a popular base for high altitude training, used by international athletes, Waterfalls attract colorful birds and provide good photographic opportunities.

You can relax on the lawn chair of the Thomson Falls Lodge, while reading your book, a nature trail at the base of the falls and through the gorge, is a safe haven for the endangered colobus monkeys, baboons and small animals.

After lunch at the lodge, you will check out. Our representative will drive you to Meru which is approximately 5 hours’ drive with scenic stops. Along the way you will have a chance to view the large plantations of wheat and flowers and coffee. On arrival you will check in, freshen up and have dinner.

Day 76: Meru Museum

After breakfast you will visit the Meru Museum. Aspects of the cultural and diverse history of the Meru people are well illustrated by the numerous displays. Two rather unusual amenities of the Meru museum are a garden of indigenous medicinal shrubs and herbs together with a theatre. A compound of traditional huts has been constructed on the grounds, which are included in tours of the museum.

Later you will visit Njuri Ncheke council of elders used once a year by a Meru Council of elders as the venue for settling disputes arising within Meru communities which could not be resolved by the smaller traditional councils(njuuri). The smaller njuuri houses nominated their members to Njuuri Ncheke, the high court of the Meru people, which catered for the entire Meru community.

In the afternoon you will have a Game Drive at Meru National Park. Brilliant on a magnificent scale, the Meru and Kora sister parks feature luxuriant jungle, coursing rivers, verdant swamp, khaki grasslands and gaunt termite cathedrals all under the sky’s great blue bowl.

Later you will be transferred back to the hotel.

Day 77: Meru – Nairobi

After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and our representative will drive you to Nairobi which is approximately 5 hours’ drive with scenic stop. You will arrive in Nairobi just in time for lunch. After lunch you will be transferred to your hotel for check in and refreshing. Later you will have time for last shopping in place of your choice. Later you will be transferred to Carnival Restaurant for last dinner with our team for feedback and socializing as well as entertainment. Later you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 78: Nairobi Departure

Depending on your international flight timings, our representative will take you to the airport to catch your flight back home. This will mark the end of your adventurous Kenya educational, historical and adventurous tour.
